We photograph weddings, which means we hold details about the most personal day of your life — your names, your venue, your date, and eventually your photographs. This policy explains what siamelle.com collects, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and how cookies and tracking work on this site.

We are based in Thailand and work with couples from all over the world, so this policy is written to meet both the Thai Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and the European GDPR, along with the Google Consent Mode v2 requirements that apply to advertising in the European Economic Area and the UK.

Necessary cookies are set automatically. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set after you agree to them.

What we collect

Everything we hold comes from one of two places: what you send us, or what your browser reports as you read the site.

When you write to us through the enquiry form, WhatsApp, LINE, Instagram or email, or when you book a date, we collect what you choose to send. In practice that is usually:

  • Your name, and your partner's name
  • An email address, and a phone or messaging handle if you give one
  • Your wedding date, venue and ceremony timeline
  • The package or coverage you are asking about
  • Anything else you write in your message

If you go on to book, we also hold what is needed to invoice and deliver: billing details, deposit and payment records, and the photographs and film we produce for you.

Collected automatically

Like most websites, we record basic technical information as you browse — which pages you read, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser, and how you arrived at the site. This comes from cookies and only runs where you have agreed to it. See sections 03 and 04.

[02]

Why we hold it

PurposeWhat this means in practice
Answering youReplying to your enquiry, quoting for your date, discussing coverage and timelines.
Delivering the workPlanning your day, issuing invoices, producing and delivering your gallery and film.
Keeping recordsHolding contracts, deposits and payment history as our accounting obligations require.
Understanding the siteSeeing which pages couples read and how they found us, so we can improve the site.
AdvertisingMeasuring whether our ads reach couples planning weddings in Thailand, and showing relevant ads.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

[03]

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files saved by your browser when you visit a website. They let the site remember things about your visit — a preference you set, or the fact that you have already made a cookie choice — so it behaves sensibly next time.

We also use related technologies: local storage to remember your consent choice, and event signals sent through Google Consent Mode v2.

[04]

Cookies we use

Three categories: necessary, analytics and marketing. Only the first is set without asking you.
Necessary Always on

Required for the site, the contact form and the booking system to work, and to remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off — without them the site does not function.

Analytics Optional

Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, how long they stay and where they came from. The data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Set only after you agree (analytics_storage: granted).

Marketing Optional

Google Ads and Google Tag Manager let us see whether an advert led to an enquiry, and show our work to people who have visited before. Set only after you agree (ad_storage: granted, ad_user_data: granted).

Google Consent Mode v2

Consent Mode v2 has been mandatory since March 2024 for advertisers running Google Ads in the EEA and UK.

We run Google Consent Mode v2. Every Google tag on this site behaves differently depending on your choice:

  • Consent granted — measurement, remarketing and conversion tracking work normally
  • Consent denied — Google stores no cookies that identify you. It falls back to conversion modelling and behavioural modelling from aggregated, anonymous signals, without identifying any individual

The four parameters our consent banner controls:

ParameterWhat it controlsBefore you choose
ad_storageGoogle Ads and DoubleClick advertising cookiesdenied
ad_user_dataSending user data to Google for advertisingdenied
ad_personalizationPersonalised remarketingdenied
analytics_storageGoogle Analytics cookiesdenied

Google Ads and remarketing

We advertise to couples planning weddings in Thailand, and we may show our work in the Google network — Search, Display and YouTube — to people who have already visited this site. That is remarketing, and it only runs if you have accepted marketing cookies.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. If you are signed in to a Google account and have allowed it in your account settings, Google may combine what it sees here with your account data.

You can turn off personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of Google Analytics entirely with the browser opt-out add-on.

[07]

Who else sees your data

Running a photography studio means relying on other companies' tools. Each of these may process some of your information on our behalf:

  • Google LLC — Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager · privacy policy · based in the USA
  • Our web host and WordPress — running this site, and server logs recording IP address, browser and visit time
  • Our booking system — handling enquiries, appointments and your wedding date
  • Our email provider — the correspondence between us
  • Our gallery platform — delivering your finished photographs and film
  • Our payment providers — bank transfer, Wise or Thai QR, when you pay a deposit or balance

Some of these operate outside Thailand, so your information may be processed abroad. Where data moves out of the EEA or UK, it does so under Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

[08]

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us or your date moves.

Booking records, contracts and payment history are kept for as long as our accounting and tax obligations require.

Your photographs and film stay backed up for one year after delivery, as described in your package. Raw footage is available on request for up to two months after your wedding, then deleted.

[09]

Your photographs

We may show photographs from your wedding in our portfolio, on this site and on social media, unless you ask us not to. Tell us before the shoot and we will keep your images private — there is no charge for this and it changes nothing else about your package.

If photographs have already been published and you change your mind, write to us and we will take them down.

[10]

Your rights

Under the Thai PDPA, and under the GDPR if you are in the UK or European Union, you have the right to:

  • Know what we hold — ask for a copy of your information and what we do with it
  • Correct it — have anything inaccurate put right
  • Have it deleted — ask us to erase what we hold, subject to our accounting obligations
  • Withdraw consent — change your cookie choice at any time, without affecting anything processed before you did
  • Object — tell us to stop using your information for marketing
  • Complain — to the Personal Data Protection Committee in Thailand, or to your national supervisory authority in the EU or UK

Write to team@siamelle.com and we will respond within 30 days.

[11]

Managing cookies

Change your choice here at any time:

You can also manage cookies directly in your browser:

Note: blocking all cookies will break parts of this site, including the booking system and the contact forms.

[12]

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the law, regulators' guidance or our own practices change. The updated version will carry a new date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects your rights, we will say so through the cookie banner, or by email if we hold your address.
