I'm Bird, a wedding photographer in Bangkok and across Thailand. I've covered over 100 weddings, and the moments I still chase are the small ones: the nervous laugh before the ceremony, the look a couple gives each other when they think nobody is watching. Most of the couples I photograph tell me the same thing before the day starts. They feel awkward in front of a camera. So I usually don't raise it for the first ten minutes. I'll ask what you had for breakfast, tease the groom about his shoes, anything that gets the two of you talking to each other instead of performing for me. By the time I actually start shooting, you've forgotten I'm there. That's the point.

A documentary approach means I follow the day as it happens instead of staging it. I stay close enough during the ceremony to catch the small reactions, but far enough back that nobody in the room is thinking about the camera instead of you.
There's one moment I look for at every wedding. Right after the ceremony ends, before anyone pulls you into group photos, I ask you to just walk. No direction, no posing, just the two of you moving toward the reception or down toward the water. I hang back with a long lens and let it happen. It's usually the frame couples end up loving most, because it's the one moment all day where nobody told them what to do.

That doesn't mean I never direct. My work blends documentary storytelling with creative portraiture, so there's still time set aside for portraits that are actually composed. The difference is that the portraits sit inside a real day, not on top of it. A wedding day rarely goes exactly to plan, and that's fine. Flexibility is part of the job here, not an exception to it. Bangkok weather can turn fast, especially for anything outdoors or on a rooftop, so I keep shooting whenever it's safe and I carry backup plans for indoor spots when the sky decides otherwise.
The equipment side isn't glamorous, but it's the part that protects a day you can't repeat. Here's how I run it:
Field Kit & Coverage
- I shoot on two Sony bodies, an A7 IV and an A7 V, so a single equipment failure never means lost coverage.
- Every memory card gets backed up before I leave the venue, not the next morning.
- How many of us show up depends on what your day needs. A photo-only or video-only booking is usually just me, working solo. Photo and film together runs as a team of two, one on stills and one on motion.
For larger or multi-day weddings, where getting-ready rooms, a ceremony, and a reception all run at once, I bring in up to five photographers and videographers so nothing gets missed while it's happening across several places. Whoever is on your day shoots and edits to the same standard I do, and I'm on every one of them.

A standard wedding package runs eight hours of coverage; an elopement runs four. Intimate ceremonies and full multi-day celebrations sit outside that range and get quoted on their own. You receive a full edited gallery of high-resolution images, delivered online so they're easy to share and download.
Preparing is simpler than most couples expect. Send me a rough timeline, tell me the family moments and traditions you don't want missed, and point me toward anything specific you're hoping for. Then, on the day, forget about me. That part is my job.
